2nd Serbian Folklore Seminar for Artistic Directors & Dancers
Dear Colleagues,
A seminar of Serbian Folklore for Artistic Directors and Primary Dancers will be hosted at Nova Gracanica Monastery Small Hall, Lake Villa, IL, Friday, February 2nd through Sunday, February 4th, 2018. The seminar program will be directed by:

The seminar schedule is as follows:
Friday, February 2nd: 6:00 – 10:00 PM
Saturday, February 3rd: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Sunday, February 4th: 11:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Participation cost is $150.00 per person. This includes all classes, lunch on Saturday & Sunday during closing presentation, a DVD of all material presented (to be sent following the seminar), notes and music of presented material, and certificate of completion. ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
Born in Zagreb, Petar Grašo is one of Croatia’s most popular singer-songwriters. With his huge following across Europe he has been awarded multiple Platinum & Double Platinum Albums & Seagull awards. Petar has performed and written numerous hits across his career not only for himself, but legends and stars such as Oliver Dragojević, Jelena Rozga, Severina, Željko Bebek, Doris Dragović, Danijela, Tonči Huljić & Madre Badessa Band. Nina Badrić is one of the most successful and most awarded Croatian musicians, whose career has successfully spanned the past 20 years. Accomplishments, awards, and popularity are following this musician beyond Croatian borders, where she’s been dubbed the best and most favorite pop singer in the region year in & year out by both audiences and music professionals. She is the winner of multiple Popularity Oscar’s, awarded by music professionals and audiences in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia. Besides a terrific voice that many compare to those of divas like Angie Stone, Alicia Keys or Mary J. Blige, Nina is characterized by many as one of the most complete musicians today. Her personality, charm, or the so called factor X immediately win people over, and as far as her looks are concerned, many claim that she is one of the most beautiful Croatian singers ever!
ANTE GELO, a guitarist, composer and arranger, graduated jazz guitar at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Gratz. He has performed in numerous concerts and jazz festivals in Croatia, Hungary, Brazil, Serbia, Austria, Germany, France, Slovenia, and Italy. He also performed in major concert halls of the world: L’Olympia (Paris), The Royal Albert Hall (London), Wiener Konzerthaus (Vienna) and Carnegie Hall (New York). He has worked with many known artist such a: Oliver, Arsen Dedic, Gabi Novak, Nina Badrić, Tereza Kesovija, Tedi Spalato, Bosko Petrovic, Matija Dedic, Amira Medunjanin, Tamara Obrovac, Harper Lee, Alberto Marsico. Ante has won several Music Awards, such as the “Porin” award for the best arrangement, composition, production, Croatian Composers Society Award for best jazz composition, Croatian Music Union Award “Status”, & many more..
