Povodom Dana Republike Srpske i krsne slave Svetog Arhiđakona Stefana Udruženje Srba Republike Srpske organizuje proslavu u prostorijama crkvenog doma sabornog hrama Sv. Vaskrsenja Hristovog na adresi 5701 N. Redwood Drive , Chiago IL. Početak u 5pm.
Ovaj značajan datum obeležiće se akademskim programom, prigodnim besedama uz tradicionalnu srpsku trpezu i bogat muzički program.

The Serb National Federation is pleased to recommend you to watch online the outstanding theatre performance Two Women and One War with Serbian actresses Marija Bergam and Vera Mujović in the leading roles. The performance describes the friendship between the Serbian and American people through the love story of two women who are forgotten heroines of the Great War.
One is an American woman, Mabel Grujić, who is married to Serbian diplomat Slavko Grujić. Another is a Serbian woman, Jelena Lozanić, married to the Serbian people’s most generous American benefactor, John Frothingham. They both have two homelands: Serbia and the United States.
In this play, you can discover why Mabel Grujić was nicknamed the Serbian Jovanka Orleanka; how many woolen socks for Serbian soldiers at the front were knitted by rich American women from high society; and who adopted 600 children in one day.
Mabel, along with Mihajlo I. Pupin, built homes for Serbian orphans and mobilized American physicians to come to Serbia and help their colleagues.
Jelena Lozanić, Representative of the Yugoslav Red Cross from 1915 to 1920, had a great humanitarian mission to the United States to collect funds for the Serbian Army and people. She met her greatest love, John Frothingham. He donated to Serbia in value almost four Serbian national budgets from 1915.
Jelena Kajgo wrote the text of the play, and the director is Alek Conic.
The performance is with English subtitles.

SerbFest Chicago 2023 is August 11-13, 2023. The intent of the event is to celebrate our Serbian culture, food, and music with the community at large, and for the proceeds to benefit our Holy Resurrection Cathedral programs and to renovate our Cathedral Hall Facility.
SerbFest Chicago features spit-roasted lamb and pork, grilled specialties, old world Serbian pastries, historical and cultural exhibit, Folklore group performances, and a fun and exciting children’s area. It is the largest Serbian Festival in the Chicagoland area!

“Sveta Petka – Krst u pustinji”

Srpsko Dramsko pozorište predstavlja dve dečije predstave: “Čudesna šuma” i “Ko se zadnji smeje”
Uoči Sretenja – Dana državnosti Srbije deca iz Srpskog dramskog pozorišta izvešće dve nove predstave premijerno u Kulturnom centru Nikola Tesla u Lyons-u.
“Ko se zadnji smeje” i “Čudesna šuma”.
Predstave je režirao Igor Obradović, upravnik pozorišta i glavni glumac filma “Sladoled” koji je prikazan na vise od 30 medjunarodnih festivala. Autor teksta “Ko se zadnji smeje” je Silvija Otašević iz Majamija čije su dve knjige beogradski đaci proglasili za najbolje. Dobitnica je i prve nagrade Matice iseljenika za dečju književnost. Predstava je specijano napisana za najamlađe pozorište u Čikagu, na koju su mesecima radili Marija, Milutin, Marta, Katja, Uroš, Sofija, Mihailo, Marko i Mia.
Publiku će nasmejati i na trenutke emotivno dirnuti, i pokazati im da prave vrednosti uvek pobeđuju. Uz sve, ta je priča protkana srpskom tradicijom ali i najsjajnijim činjenicama srpsko-američke istorije. “Ko se zadnji smeje” bice izvedena uz moralnu podršku Uprave za saradnju sa dijasporom i Srbima u regionu.
Predstave će imati titl na engleskom kako bi svako dete i tinejdzer u pozorište mogli da dovode i svog američkog druga.
– “Cilj nam je da našom komedijom i iskrenošću dopremo do dece, da ona sama osete i zaključe šta je dobro, a šta loše, odnosno da shvate da ako je dobro njihovom drugaru, ako je on srećan i njima može da bude samo jos bolje”, kazu Obradović i Otašević.
Najmlađi glumci velikog ansambla Srpskog dramskog pozorišta – Vasilija, Petar, dve Mile, Dunja, Neda, Vukan, Nikolina, Lana i Simona prikazace šta su naučili – “Čudesna šuma” je spoj pesmica i recitacija, kratkih priča uključujući i one koje govore o ljubavi između dece i životina. Biće to prilika da svi oni pokažu kako se snovi o glumu pretvaraju u stvarnost a zbog kojih nekima nije bilo tesko da se na probu voze i dva sata samo u jednom pravcu! Ocekujemo dolazak predstavnika Generalnog konzulata Srbije i BiH u Čikagu.
