У недељу, 26. априла 2026. године, српска православна заједница у Чикагу и широј околини окупиће се под сводовима Саборног храма Васкрсења Христовог како би подржала довршетак изградње Центра Светог Мардарија при манастиру Светог Саве у Либертивилу.

Овај догађај представља прекретницу у очувању духовног и културног идентитета српског народа у Северној Америци.

Манастир Свети Сава већ више од једног века стоји као свети завет истрајности нашег народа. Основао га је Свети Мардарије Либертивилски, који је својом несебичном жртвом и личним радом поставио темеље нашег постојања на овим просторима. Изградња Центра Светог Мардарија наставља ту свету мисију, пружајући савремени простор за образовање омладине и очување традиције за будуће генерације.

Програм обележавања овог значајног дана почеће у 10:30 часова Светом Архијерејском Литургијом. Светом службом ће предстојати Његово Високопреосвештенство Митрополит Лонгин, уз саслужење Његовог Преосвештенства Епископа Серафима и свештенства Саборног храма.

Након богослужења, у 12:30 часова, у сали Саборног храма биће уприличен свечани добротворни ручак. Током овог скупа, Његово Преосвештенство Епископ Серафим одржаће детаљну презентацију о визији и тренутном напретку изградње Центра Светог Мардарија. Свечаности ће присуствовати и делегација из матице, предвођена Председником Милорадом Додиком, који долази као гост како би пружио подршку овом пројекту од општесрпског значаја.

Основни циљ овог окупљања је прикупљање 50.000 долара неопходних за завршетак наредне фазе изградње центра. Сваки прилог који се прикупи током овог дана представља директно улагање у будућност наше заједнице и очување нашег духовног дома.

IN THE PATH OF ST. MARDARIJE: CHICAGO COMMUNITY TO BUILD A CULTURAL HOME FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS

On Sunday, April 26, 2026, the Serbian Orthodox community in Chicago and the surrounding regions will gather at the Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral to support the completion of the St. Mardarije Cultural Center at the St. Sava Monastery in Libertyville. This event marks a significant milestone in the preservation of the spiritual and cultural identity of the Serbian people in North America.

The St. Sava Monastery has stood for over a century as a sacred testament to the perseverance of the Serbian people. Established by St. Mardarije of Libertyville, who through selfless sacrifice and physical labor laid the foundation of the community’s presence in this land, the monastery remains a beacon of faith. The construction of the St. Mardarije Cultural Center continues this holy mission by providing a vibrant space for youth education and the preservation of tradition for future generations.
The day’s observances will begin at 10:30 AM with a Holy Hierarchical Liturgy. His Eminence Metropolitan Longin will preside over the service, concelebrated by His Grace Bishop Serafim and the Cathedral Clergy.

Following the divine service at 12:30 PM, a formal benefit luncheon will be held in the Cathedral Hall. During this gathering, His Grace Bishop Serafim will deliver a comprehensive presentation on the vision and current progress of the St. Mardarije Cultural Center. The event will also welcome a delegation from the motherland, including President Milorad Dodik, who joins as a guest to witness the progress of this project of pan-Serbian importance.

The primary objective of this gathering is to reach a fundraising goal of $50,000 necessary for the completion of the next construction phase. Every contribution made during this event serves as a direct investment in the future of the community and the preservation of its spiritual home.
